Blackstone Group L.P. (The). The Group's principal activities are to provide alternative asset management and financial advisory services. The alternative asset management businesses include the management of corporate private equity funds, real estate opportunity funds, funds of hedge funds, mezzanine funds, senior debt vehicles, proprietary hedge funds and closed-end mutual funds. The Group also provides various advisory, restructuring and reorganization advisory and fund placement services. On March, 2008 the Group acquired GSO Capital Partners LP.
