DaVita Incorporated. The Group's principal activities are the provision of dialysis and related services for patients suffering from chronic kidney failure. The services offered by the Group also include acute inpatient dialysis. The Group also provides a range of ancillary services to ESRD patients, including EPO and other pharmaceuticals, ESRD laboratory services and ESRD clinical research programs. As of 31-Dec-2008 it operated or provided administrative services at 1,449 outpatient dialysis centers in 43 states and the District of Columbia, serving patients. In addition, the Group provides acute inpatient dialysis services in approximately 700 hospitals.
