Monsanto Company. The Group's principal activity is to provide agricultural products to farmers. It operates in two segments: Seeds and Genomics and Agricultural Productivity. The Seeds and Genomics segment consists of the global seeds and related traits businesses and biotechnology platforms. In this segment its major brands include DEKALB, Channel Bio for corn, Asgrow for soybeans, Deltapine for cotton and Seminis and De Ruiter for vegetable seeds. Its Biotechnology traits include SmartStax, YieldGard and YieldGard VT for corn, Bollgard and Bollgard II for cotton, Roundup Ready and Roundup Ready 2 Yield for soybeans and Genuity, global brand for multiple products. The Agricultural Productivity segment consists of the crop protection products and lawn-and-garden herbicide products. On 01-Oct-2008, the Group divested its Dairy Business. In December 2008, the Group acquired Aly Participacoes Ltda. In July 2009, it acquired WestBred, LLC.
