iStar Financial Inc.. The Group's principal activity is to provide structured financing to private and corporate owners of real estate nationwide. It includes senior and junior mortgage debt, senior and mezzanine capital and corporate net lease financing. The Group is taxed as a real estate investment trust (REIT). Its activities are carried out through two segments: Real Estate Lending: Provides structured financing to private and corporate owners of real estate nationwide, including senior and junior mortgage debt, and senior and mezzanine corporate capital. Corporate Tenant Leasing: Directly and through its Leasing Subsidiary, provides capital to corporations and borrowers. As on 31-Dec-2008, it had over 102 corporate customers operating in more than 25 major industry sectors, including automotive, energy, finance, healthcare, recreation, technology and telecommunications.
