Stericycle, Inc.. The Group's principal activity is to collect, transport and treat medical waste. It treatment technology includes proprietary electro-thermal-deactivation system, autoclaving and incineration technologies. The operations are conducted through 89 treatment and collection centers and 97 additional transfer and collection sites in 50 states. Its customers include 418,000 small medical waste generators such as outpatient clinics, medical and dental offices and large medical waste generators such as hospitals, blood banks and pharmaceutical manufacturers. The Group serves customers located in the Untied States, Puerto Rico, Canada, Mexico and the United Kingdom. During the year ended 31-Dec-2008, the Group completed 22 acquisitions, of which 12 were domestic regulated waste businesses, two were domestic return management businesses and eight were international regulated waste businesses in Canada, Latin America and Europe.
