ARM Assets consist of Purchased ARM Assets and ARM Loans and are comprised of Traditional ARM Assets and Hybrid ARM Assets. The Group has elected to be taxed as a Real Estate Investment Trust and complies with the provisions of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986. The Group has a wholly owned mortgage-banking subsidiary, Thornburg Mortgage Home Loans, Inc., which conducts mortgage loan acquisition and origination activities. The Group acquires single-family residential mortgage loans through bulk acquisitions, correspondent lending and direct lending. As of 31-Dec-2007, it had 684 approved mortgage brokerage firms. The Group does not originate or acquire investments outside of the United States of America.
