The Group's principal activity is to market branded and unbranded refined products on a wholesale basis in the United States and Canada through an extensive bulk and rack marketing network. The Group operates in two segments: Refining and Retail. The Refining segment includes refining operations, wholesale marketing, product supply and distribution and transportation operations. The Retail segment includes company-operated convenience stores, Canadian dealers and jobbers, truckstop facilities, cardlock facilities and home heating oil operations. As of 31- Jan-2009, the Group operated 16 refineries located in the United States, Canada, and Aruba that produce conventional gasolines, distillates, jet fuel, asphalt, petrochemicals, lubricants and other refined products.
