The Group operates in six segments: Eastern, Midwest, Southern, Western, WMRA, Wheelabrator and Other. It develops, operators and owns waste-to-energy facilities. The services are provided to commercial, industrial, municipal and residential customers, other waste management companies, electric utilities and governmental entities. As on 31-Dec-2008: the Group owned 267 solid waste landfills. It operates in the United States, Puerto Rico and Canada.
